I think it's probably because most sane people are pretty alarmed at how many others get their news from Stewart and Colbert. They are great comedians, but it's pretty scary that so many people look to comedians for their news.

You see, little Billy, you need a few things to understand exactly WHY Colbert is the funniest man on television. A lot of people label him as left wing or right wing or whatever. You cannot label Colbert. He is a GOD amongst men. He is the definition of "funny" and "truthiness". To understand why Colbert is so funny, you need something we liberals call "Knowledge". Yes, Billy, KNOWLEDGE. First, you get your news from the whatever-biased news station you get your news from. After a day-long filtering system, it is spewn out of Colbert's mouth in terms of humor that most uneducated people cannot understand. This "filtering system" literally 'filters' out the smart from the ignorant; the funny from the lame; the libs from the neocons. If you think Colbert is funny, congratulations.. you're smarter than a lot of people. Yes, little Billy, people are often scared of what they do not understand. Therefore, many neocons are scared of Colbert, especially when he's right. Or left. I forget just what he says he is, but whatever that is, he is not.
o yea, and john stewart? just as funny as bill o'reilly. that is, not funny. at all...

They are in the spotlight. And anyone in the spotlight will draw fire from someone who doesn't like them. Jon and Stephen need to be glad they aren't in Iraq. There the fire they might draw could be more deadly.

They're just comedians, entertainers. It's a little scary if their viewers take them seriously at all.
I don't watch them, but I'm aware of their shows in general. If they act like traitors, then that's not good. It's not so okay to strongly not support your country while at war.

Neither of these guys claim to be news shows. They lampoon the news and politicians, something that has been going on since before this country was founded.

Because they are left wing tools. Jon Stewart has an obvious bias and left wing agenda on his show. Colbert's isn't as obvious but is still there.

apparently republicans/conservatives hate comedians. what they don't get is that if Clinton was still in office, they would be making fun of him every day. that is what they do.
