Just who decided a word could be bad? If you say one thing with an accptable word but it means the same as a bad word than why is it so much worse? And what about
d i ck (its bad but when its a name its ok?? and c o c k is bad but when your talking chicken, its ok? Just two examples but the whole idea is ridiculous. The meaning behind a word should be all that matters. If you call someone a b i t c h its bad but not if you say meanie.agree or not?

Words are simply words. But wars have been started with the usage of certain words.

It is not words themselves, it is the INTENT behind the words. Just ask Michael Richards.

A really deep question. In my culture the swear words are always genitalia and copulation related, and some animals, and we always believe they have something do to with the way we look at sex, and the psychology behind it is we think sex is sacrilegious; but truth be told, how did they ended up to have those meanings are hard for contemporary users to figure out. In English is much the same way. Maybe you should search the origin of the words and see how they changes through the history. Are you planning on writing a thesis on this? Maybe worth a PhD.

i dont think the word its self is bad, but the meaning behind it. if you told your best friend he was a f***head with a smile on your face its not an insult. but

say you were yelling at someone and called them a spork, while the word itsself isnt insulting, the way it was applied is. and taken that way you could teach your children that saying spork was a naughty thing to do. then they would grow up thinking spork was a bad word. its all in the learned meanings of things.

Although I understand where you are coming from, I believe that there are bad words that should just not be said ever. It's not the fact that the word is "bad" but the meaning behind it and the context in which you use it.
