We didn't evolve "from" apes, according to evolutionary theory, but from a common ancestor that we share with modern primates. The difference in skin tone is an evolutionary adaption that happened as early humans moved from their orginal habitat and spread across the globe, a way for people living in areas of more or less sunlight to be able to absorb the ideal amount of vitamen D from the sun's rays. This does not indicate that one skin tone is "more evolved" than another, because those early ancestors that we all share did not look like any modern human around today... so all races have evolved from that common ancestor equally. It might interest you that, in terms of DNA, etc, there is less difference between "race" or "color" than there is between people who have connected or dis-connected earlobes.

We did not evolve from apes but as previously stated from a common ancestor. It was a gradual process that has takin million of years it is not like a ape gave birth to a human one day.
perhaps you have heard of Austrolpithicus afaransis or "lucy" a hominid (Bipedal Primate) that existed about 3.4 million years ago from their we have climbed the evoulutionary tree to austrolpithicus africanis then to the genus homo, homo habilis to homo egaster to homo erectus then to archaic homo saipian then finaly about 200,000 years ago modern homo saipian. It took millions of years to happen we devloped increasingly larger brains because it proved to be benefical and natural selection awarded it. This is all confirmed by fossil record therefore you cannot disprove it, or do you deny these fossils existence? Modern day apes and gorillas went down a completely different evolutionary cycle sperate from are own, so no we didnt evolve from apes.
As far as why we are different skin colors is only because of the amount of melanin in the skin, an adaption to help protect ourseleves from the suns rays. The darker the skin tone the more sunny the climate your ancestors hailed from. We are all the same species color is only a result from a natural sunscreen nothing more, we are all the same.

OK, first of all, evolution is just change over time. We all adapt to different areas in which we live and change based on that. People from cold climates tend to be short and fat and people from hot climates tend to be tall and skinny. Skin color is the same way. It's all about the amount of protection needed from the sun.
Now, on to the ape thing. Scientists don't say that we evolved from apes, they say that we evolved from ape-like ancestors. Apes evolved from ape-like ancestors as well. According the scientists, we changed in different ways from them and eachtoher because of the different environments and food sources that we were subjected to.
So there it is...the scientific explanation of why there are still apes AND why we have different color skin. Now keep in mind that this is just one explanation.
Science doesn't try to give you truth, it's just theories based on observations. If tomorrow we observed that gravitiy doesn't occur everywhere, you wouldn't say that science lied to you, it would just change what we observed. Science is does NOT claim to be truth.
Hope this helps :)

Environmental factors would have decided the skin colours of our ancestors, the nearness to the Equator, lifestyles and climate decide this, and examples are apparent worldwide. We did not evolve from Apes of different colours.

we did not evolve FROM apes, we evolved WITH apes from a common ancestor.
Also this force of nature does not preclude the existence of a higher power at all. Why is it so threatening that the force of evolution and DNA is some how part of the universal force that might be a 'god'?

First of all, human beings share a common ancestor with apes. We did not descend directly from modern apes.
Skin tone is determined by the amount of melanin pigment produced by melanocytes, and at least six genes have been identified which affects an individual's skin tone.
Vitamin protection/synthesis has a role in the evolution of skin tone, but among indigenous populations there is also a correlation with skin tone and the amount of ultraviolet (UV) radiation in a geographical area.
Darker skin not only prevents things such as sunburn, but it also prevents UV radiation damage to DNA, which can lead to cancer among other things. However, UV radiation is still needed for the production of vitamin D.
So with higher amounts of light at the equator, darker skinned people would have an advantage due to their decreased susceptibility to cellular damage due to increased UV. However, in more polar regions, lighter skinned people would have decreased susceptibility to UV radiation but produce more vitamin D than darker skinned people.

Skin color is a position of adaption depending upon region. Tropical or hot areas tend to create darker skin to fight off UV rays and to be less light sensitive. People in areas of low sunlight tend to be lighter in skin because the pigmentation is not necessary. Moderate skin tones are usually found in temperate zones. Human beings evolved with time to be what color, what height, and what stature they are today. Most of the commonly known differences we see today are cultural or sociological rather than an evolutionary adaptation.

Evolution is in it self the answer. After humans evolve from apes then further evolution occurs that effects colour etc, this is due to vitamins, sunlight and lifestyle.
Evolution is still fairy vague and we still need a lot more research before we have all the answers.

We did not evolve from apes rather a common anscestor. All different colors is merely an act of evolution. So if Adam and Eve did exist, why are we different colors?
