It depends on how much the person practises communicating in the foreign language. If this person is exposed to the foreign language on a daily basis, and surrounded by people who do not know the person's own language, basic communication can take place after 3 months for the average person. Pick up fully...? no less than 2 years, on average.

Depends on the individual. Many footballers around Europe(outwith Britain) speak a number of languages.. I believe Klinnsman and Guillet (spring to mind) could speak about 4 /5 languages fluently. Remember however, that footballers can afford to have the best teachers day or night. They are encouraged to do so by there clubs etc. In learning the language they can integrate themselves far more quickly.

it quite is Cristiano Ronaldo. Fernando Torres had a good Euro whoopdy freaking doo. Cesc Fagregas sucks Podolski choked back Krkic... Pshh CR7 which incorporate with Rooney and Tevez gave Manchester United yet another EPL identify and gained the Champions league. AND!!! CR7 Broke the scoring archives of one of the suitable footballers of all time George suitable. So it is going to Cristiano Ronaldo.

Depends on how keen you are at picking up the language.

Jonny Woodgate learnt Spanish really quickly during his short spell at Real Madrid.
