I worked for McDonalads at 14, before that I worked for Western Golf and Country Club at 13 and berore that I worked for Observer Eccentric. I also had friends who worked for various Movie THeaters (AMC Theaters). Your best bet is fast food and theaters. I would however immediatly change jobs at 16 because they will screw you on your wage.

In general, most businesses prefer not to hire employees under the age of 18 because of legal liabilities. Your best bet at this point is to try something with a high turnover rate, such as a fast food restaurant, although I do not advocate encouraging that business in any way.

If you truly need a job, try asking around. Word of mouth can reveal many local opportunities that asking on the internet never would. If you don't need a job but only want the extra money, be careful - once you start working, you usually have to keep doing it for the rest of your life. Enjoy your time being unemployed as long as you possibly can!

Babysitting is a good start. You should be able to get started by contacts you make with your neighborhood, church, or through friends. The pay can run over $6/hour, which beats the 50 cents per hour I earned back in the early 1970's.
Another would be to dog-sit (go to people's homes and feed and exercise pets). Don't know the rate with that.
Telemarketing is a tough, but great paying job (like selling magazines and such). You have to have tough skin to do that because the rejection can be verbally abusive.

good luck!!
