All states have their great points to them--afterall, this is a great country. As for me...
"Best":
1. Texas: friendly folks, thriving cities, diversity in geography, they can fly their flag the same level as the U.S. flag and (optional) divide into six states
2. Tennessee. Friendly, beautiful (especially the Smokies,) the water in east TN is so clean
3. Mississippi. Friendly, and there's nothing like the smell of pine forest on a cool, crisp, foggy morning
4. Alabama. Friendly...again, and the best shrimp on the Gulf. B-ham is also a cool city
5. Washington. Seattle, the Olympic peninsula, volcanoes, ridges
6. North Carolina. Nothing like the Blue Ridge, a must see
"Worst":
1. West Virginia: not very progressive, good-ol-boy networks pervasive
2. Arkansas: Ditto
3. Kentucky: Ditto--plus, folks there are just mean
4. California: dirty, overcrowded, expensive, overrated
5. New Jersey: high crime, A LOT of pollution, high taxes
6. Connecticut: I can't stand that place!

I'm a California Girl all the way. And I would never live anywhere else. I hated Penn. because you can smoke in restaurants and grocery stores and it's nasty

I notice nobody has said anything about Idaho. Well theres a lot more here than partisan aryans and potatoes thats for sure. We have a lot of land and a lot of unsettled wilderness thats just great for hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, anything really, and if you like the city we also have the third largest city in the Pacific Northwest, my hometown of Boise. Idaho is also very culturally diverse. There are many Russians here (thats me, go Russians!), as well as Scandinavians and countless hispanic nationalities. We have every kind of terrain there is except for Jungle or tundra. We also have the Sawtooth mountain range which is very pretty. Not to mention nation famous resorts like Tamarack and Sun Valley. (Personally I like Brundage and I assume I would like Tamarack better than Sunvalley, cause even though a lot of famous people go there, aside from that Sun Valley just sucks.) We also have many gold claims still left in our hills and you can become a prospector here. It is also only one of two places on the entire planet where you can get The extremely rare and valuable Star Garnet. The only other place in the world where you can find these precious gems is in the mainland of China and I dont see anyone going there poor and leaving rich anytime soon. We are also very friendly here to people that dont try to change our lifestyle, but people like Brad M by the way, can suck a dick because he has no Idea what the **** his feminized, liberal, tyranny sympathizing *** is talking about. America has been the way it is since the day it was founded you prick, it is YOU that is trying to tell us that were here first how to live OUR lives, trying to take away OUR God and take away OUR values and OUR guns and other things that liberals hate because they are sexually and emotionally insecure. So yknow what? Thats why theres more Red states than Blue states because you have to have a mental disorder to think the way Brad M does. Have a nice day everyone.

I am a 100% California Beach Girl all the way! So, I would definitely think it's the best state ever. We have amazing beaches, we have Disneyland, Sea World, a Magic Mountain, Universal Studios Hollywood, and so many other great tourist attractions. We have the best shopping places ever. We have San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego. We also have the country (towns in which the population is less than 1,000), or large cities. We have the mountains and the beach. Certain places even have snow in the winter. We have EVERYTHING here. I don't know what part you went to, but it's not dirty (unless you go to the major cities). And, our governor can beat your governor's as*!

Austin, Texas I love with the longhorn fans and all the beautiful things to see I wouldn't live in Houston though.
I love the beaches and all the cool stuff California has to offer. I do not like the prices and the traffic.
I love parts of New Mexico and the sunsets are awesome!
Mississippi is very pretty during the spring when everything blooms but it is very backwards and the schools are awful, along with ancient attitude toward women. There are good things and bad thing in every state I have visited or lived.
Texas is my favorite and Mississippi is my least favorite

I agree that North Carolina is a great state. I live in Raleigh! North Carolina is the best!
I don't like West Virginia, because it's really strange there. They seem to be about 5 years behind the rest of the world. Really isolated and I think the biggest city (Charleston) there has a population of 53,000. But West Virginia has a beautiful landscape.
I don't think California is a bad state though. Los Angeles is crowded and expensive, but the nothern part of California is nice. Lot's of smaller towns, especially near Sacramento. My aunt lives there, and it's really nice, and the Coastal drives are beautiful.

Well I am all about the Blue states! And the Red states can you please leave us alone with your bible thumping politics!! This country was built on the ideas of great men who invisioned and stated there should be seperation of church and state. Little did they know along with freedom of religion (which I believe is VERY important) they should have also stated there should be freedom FROM religion!!! We dont try to tell you not to believe and not to follow your value so please stop trying to run the government in a way that forces your ideals onto us!!!!

As much as I love my state we are not allowed to fly our flag at the same level as Old Glory...and the worst state? I've been there..it's called New Mexico...I'm glad I'm not there anymore...I had two options; stay in New Mexico or go to Afghanistan for a while...I think you know what i chose.

its only my opinion, but i think alaska is a pretty great state, they may have a small population, but manage to retain the vast amount of wilderness. the worst state is probably california, or at least the heavily populated areas, couldnt imagine living in a place like that, to crowded and dirty. i honestly dont know why the calfornia beaches are such a attraction, the beaches ive seen are like landfills or dumps.

I think it´s not fair to call "worst" States. All of them have good and bad. However I would say that one of my favorites States is Florida...What about New York?
