Though he would not share the news with the public for another seven years, Fox was diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson's disease in 1991. Upon disclosing his condition in 1998, he committed himself to the campaign for increased Parkinson's research.

Michael J. Fox is very dedicated to helping people with this disease. He works hard on it. He probably gives lots of money to research. It's admirable.

He wrote an book about his life, and he mentioned that when he testified before congress, on the day before he temporarily stopped taking his medicine, in order to sort of exaggerate his symptoms, so his appearance would be more dramatic. His motivation is very good, he's helping lots of people. Nobody's perfect. But people who mention this fact about his testimony shouldn't be attacked for telling the truth.

Again, Michael J. Fox's efforts to help people with this disease is admirable.
