Um, for $450 a month you can probably find a place in the alley. Usually a big *** TV cardboard box with a coffee can as a toilet and rain as your plumbing.
You're 55? Dude, I am 24 and have a $900 apartment in beautiful Gurnee, IL.

You might luck out in the rural midwest. Going prices there are about $350-$400 for a 2BR.
