My life has turned out completely different than I thought. Although the road to get there was sometimes a winding one, I believe I am in a much better place than I thought I would be as a teen.

worse...
When your a teen, you have high hopes, you think you can take on the world.
Then you grow up, and realize the real world is nothing like high school. You have to make decisions on your own, and somehow they usually end up being the wrong decisions.
I'm in my mid-20's, I didn't expect to be rich by now... but I was sure I'd be financially stable... that didn't happen, I'm struggling.
I expected to have a group of close friends (5-6)... that didn't happen either, I only have about 2 friends that I know I can really count on.
I expected to be well on my way to being engaged... now I'm very cynical about men, not sure if I ever want to get married.
I expected to be settled in my career, progressing up the ladder... I actually feel totally lost, feel like the major I'm in is not for me, wanting to go back to college, and try to find the right career all over again - can't do that because of finances. I didn't expect to be one of those people who have to go to work for money, not because they love their job.
I expected myself to be smart enough not to screw up in life. I've learned that just because your book smart in HS, doesn't mean a thing. The real world is a whole different ballgame. Now, I'm picking up the pieces.
So, life is a bunch of lessons I guess... when does the fun part start?

As a teen, I thought I could work and strike it rich in a couple of years. Obviously I was wrong. But I'm not disappointed. I've met some pretty interesting people along the way and learnt some valuable lessons. If I were to seriously evaluated from my now matured and knowledgeable mind, I would say it is much better.

It's different. In some aspects its better - in others its in between. Nothing is downright worse - there's a few bumps here and there but that's life.
Despite it all and the unpredictable outcome - I wouldn't change a thing. Everything happens for a reason so I'll just continue to run on to see what the end will be.

One can never tell how or where their life is going to go, we have hopes and dreams when we are teenager and if we have our heads on straight and work for what we want the chances are our lives have gone down the road we thought it would when we were younger and if we didn't stay on the right path and work hard for what we wanted we have no one else to blame for it but ourselves.

im still a teen, but when i was younger i thought it would be great. so much freedom, all the friends, parties, guys. i mean, of course all that stuffs still here, but theres also peer pressure and drama. when your little or a teen, you relate what your future will be like based on the shows you watch and how you were brought up. i would say its worse than i imagined, but its not that bad.

It's very different! I'm much busier that I thought I'd be........
I thought I'd be single and living in a big city.
(I grew up in a very rural area)
I thought I'd be very successful and wealthy. But......
I got married, had kids, divorced, remarried, had a kid.....
I live in a suburban area but long for a rural residence.
So I don't think it's worse than I thought, just different!

Never thought I'd marry after college, move to a different country, and have a great time pursuing my writing career!
Listen to your instincts... you will find that everything will fall into place and you will be happy!
