A bit more than 2x the size of the DVD.

Well then don't wrap it! Buy a small sized gift bag and tissue paper. To make it look prettier get some gift wrapping ribbon as well and tie the two handles of the bag together and then use scissors to curl the ribbon. It will look really pretty but don't forget the tissue paper! I always do this because I myself can not wrap for anything!

Place the dvd on the wrapping paper, flip it over once and that is exactly how much paper you'll need. It's fool proof. Good luck!

A square of paper about 8 inches x 8 inches should do it. They do have DVD wrappers in stores you know. Its usually a festive foil wrapping "bag" that you just slip in to the sleeve and poof! DVD all wrapped!!!

Honestly, I would just get a small gift bag and some tissue paper. That way, if you are giving more than one DVD to a person, you can just slip them in the same bag. Its easier to transport also, if you have to travel.
