ask for an extra credit assignment. not all teachers do them, but if you ask if there is something outside of class that you could do to bring up your mark, he/she might have something they are willing to let you do for a few extra points. also try talking to him/her and see the areas you need to improve. if oyu'r ehaving trouble writing papers, what I've found that works for me is find a person that is good in english, or a tutor, or a writing center in your neighborhood for english and have them help you with your idea, thesis, and they will even edit your paper for you and give you advice on how to improve it and most of them are english majors or experienced writers, so they know what they are talking about.

Talk to your teacher/instructor. He/She would know the specific areas you need to improve and how to go about to improve.

I dunno how the schools in the US's English marks work, but here you just have to do great in your oral and spelling tests (I did it for Grade 7 and received 97% for my final results)

I would talk to your teacher if there is more work you could be doing and I would be studying more for your tests.

Good Luck!!!
