I can, if it's something not really that important and therefore not worth fighting for, so I'd rather use my energy for something "worth the trouble". Not meaning I'm not ambitious, because when I really do want something - I don't let go.
False pride is a waste of energy and time after all. ;)

I persevere... but at the same time, I'm big on trying to do things differently, if one approach does not work.

I'm afraid I have to say I'm the die-hard in the family. It's hard to get me to back off. Some in the family call me stubborn. Some say I have a lot of persistence. I don't care what they call me. If I know I'm right, then I'll hang in there 'till the very end.

No way--I am very persistent. Examples: If I'm trying to learn something I do it over and over until I master it...I have won radio contests because I kept trying and trying, hitting redial as many as 100 times, to get in between calls...LOL...I don't give up!! Oh and by the way, Kja63 doesn't count her money when she's sittin' at the table...she knows there'll be time enough for countin' when the dealin's done. :)

It is very difficult for me to throw in the towel, simply because I have only one towel!

I am contrary by nature, so "giving up" is not part of my genetics. However, sometimes, discretion is the better part of valor; I'm all for falling on my sword, but only if the cause is really and truly worth it.
