Sometimes HPT's can give a false negative..they have for me. I would wait a few days and try again. If you haven't started I would call your doctor.

You don't indicate your age, but i know as I got into my thirties my "always regular" periods changed. You may also not have ovulated thsi month. Wait about a week and test again, although, if you are that regular and you are two days past, an hpt would probably show something.

Wait another week then test again. Sometimes it takes longer for your body to produce enough of the hormone that the hpt needs to know that you are pregnant. My sister had to wait two weeks after her missed period until the test came up positive for her.

Ovulation must have been delayed for some reason (stress, illness, etc) and therefore your period is delayed. It is normal for women to occassionally have a late period even if they are very regular. Wait a week and if no period test again!
