After reading tons of "am I pregnant" questions I feel sort of silly posting this question, but let me explain. I took a HPT today and it was the store brand version of EPT...the control line was very clear and visible about 30 seconds into the test; the second test line (that shows up if you are pregnant) didn't show for over a minute, but I went to check on the test about ten minutes later, and there was an extremely faint positive line showing; so faint however, that I wonder if it was a misread, because it does say on the pkg that after ten minutes any reading is "invalid." So have any of you had a test result like that and were indeed pregnant? I should add that I have felt the low-level queasiness and fatigue that I felt with my first pregnancy, but that could also be any number of things, like a lack of iron in my diet or not enough exercise. What are your thoughts; other women out there? What's the next logical step? Take another test? Thanks. :)

My positive line was so faint that I thought I might be intentionally talking myself into seeing something that wasn't actually there. I am 16 weeks pregnant. Go get yourself another test.

Good Luck

That is so funny that you had said that. i had the same thing happen to me. i took a test and only one line showed. So i put it in the trash. The next morning while going to the bathroom, I had noticed that there were two lines. The pregnant like was really light. So i didn't think anything of it and plus being old. I ended up taking another test that night and it was positive. I think you are. If you look on the box it will say it doesn't matter if the like is light or dark. ALL THE SAME. Just may mean you are early into it. Good luck. I'd take another one if i was you.

I bet you are pregnant -- ten minutes is a cutoff for an evap line, but i have taken many tests where this line never shows up. Or, if it does, does not come right at ten minutes (maybe 1/2 an hour later, or more). A faint line means something is showing up, and right at ten minutes, my guess is it was still accurate.
Simple fix, though -- take another test and set a timer for 7 minutes. Check then. If there is a faint line, you're pregnant!

I would say there is a good possiblity you are pregnant, but since you did read the test after the ten minute mark I would retest. Did the faint line show up and you saw it at the one minute point, I am a little confused on that, if yes I would say you are pregnant. Any line faint or not is a line. And a yes to pregnancy.

I would buy another two tests and take them both. if the line is faint, you may be pregnant but the hormone level is low. Take a test from the store or if you want to be certain go get a blood test.

Take another test. I had one that did that, it showed up about 7 minutes after and the line was very very faint, i could barely see it. But i was indeed pregnant.

What time of day did you perform the test. I have found the the cheaper brands are best done at the earliest time of day first pee of the morning time of day. It is possible you are positive, doing a second test should confirm, once a result is on the stick it stays. Faint or strong if its positive it's usually right.
