im bout to get an apartment, i applied and was qualified for the apartment. is there n e thing i should look out for or ask before signing? thank u

What's covered ? Electricity ? Gas / heating ? water ? garbage ? (if not , be prepared for lots of utility deposits)
Is it 1st month , last month , cleaning & security deposits due when signing ? How much total ?
What are their policies on rent increases ?
What are the guest policies ?
What are pet policies ?

Check out the apartment carefully. Make sure everything works. Have a lawyer or paralegal read the lease FIRST. Google or yahoo the landlords to see if they are creepy. Also I would check the bbb online if they are a true rental agency and not just homeowners looking for extra income. Finally if all checks out, be a good tenant and pay yourrent on time - if you like the apt the landlord may not raise your rent the next renewal!

If you like the place rent it. Make sure you want to stay there for the length of the lease... that's about it.

You should go through the apartment with the owner or owner's rep. and write down everything you see that is broken, or scratches, etc....
Take pictures !!!!!

Check to make sure everything works. Then get IN WRITING any repairs they say they will do.

READ THE ENTIRE LEASE - EACH AND EVERY WORD.

Read it!!!!!!!
