I had false labor pains on and off for a week before my son was born. There is nothing "false" in how it feels. They were like regular labor pains, except that I had one every 10 minutes for awhile, then one every half hour, and it jumped around. Then it stopped, only to come back several hours later. It was somewhat grueling.
But I knew I was in real labor when the contractions came on a regular basis. However, the contractions felt absolutely no different.

You should feel the difference between the two. I think Amy hit it right on. Real contractions will awaken you at night! I had contractions at home for 4 days before they kept me. It was awful I couldn't walk or talk threw them. The hot shower did nothing at all and It did wake me up at night (if I feel asleep) Braxton hicks are just more of an uncomfortable feeling from what I hear. If your contractions are lasting 30 seconds and come every 5-10 minutes go to the OB! Again, you will know the pain! Good luck to you!

Years ago, my OB/GYN told me a quick test to see if they are Braxton Hicks or real. Take a warm bath or hot shower. If the contractions stop during the bath or shower, they are braxton hicks.
Real contractions will come at regular intervals and will awaken you at night. Braxton Hicks can sometimes be very uncomfortable, but they will not become painful. If you are feeling more than uncomfortable, you should call your doctor right away. Most doctors will advise you to come in when they are between 5 and 10 minutes apart, but it varies so be sure to check.
Good luck! My son was born on Christmas Eve. Maybe you will have the most wonderful present you can ever get as I did.

I have Braxton Hicks contractions all the time and i'm 39 weeks pregnant. They last for a couple of seconds and then you're alright. They can be painful sometimes but mines haven't. Just because you've had em for 3 days doesn't mean that they are real because I have them everyday. They are normal. So just hang on but if they get to where they are very painful and they are back to back then you should contact your doctor.

Sounds like Braxton Hicks contractions. If they seem to be frequent, you should rest and drink some water. The more hydrated you are the less you will have them. If you were in early labor, the contractions wouldn't cease, they would just keep getting stronger. As far as the discharge, as long as there is no odor or anything, it's normal. Your body increases vaginal discharge in preparation for delivery, it'll happen through the rest of your pregnancy. The diarrhea was probably something you ate.

I had B-H contractions for months before the actual contractions started. B-H feels like your abdomen clenches like a fist, your tummy gets tight, and then it relaxes. Real contractions are completely different from everything else on the planet. You'll know when you get there. Try to rest, relax and take it easy. Good luck--

You need to call your doctor. They can let you know if your dilating. They also have some type of medication that should make the contractions stop if they are in fact BH

Depends on if they are getting closer together, stronger, and if you change positions and they don't go away. If they are getting closer and stronger then they may be the real thing. If you change positions and they don't change or go away they are probably the real thing. When in doubt get checked out. Unless you want to deliver on your own. Good luck and congrats
