remove by way of 'sump'.
some garages have a pipe that can go into your dipstick hole( no I am not being rude)
and they can suck up excess.
check with either 'AA' or 'RAC'

You do not say what model or make but if you look at the lowest point on the car engine sump you will see a internal plug or nut place a drain bowl under it, release the plug remember that you only want a small amount out so replace plug after a small amoumt has drained, and keep cheeking to see if the level is correct , Only warm the engine before hand do not drain a hot engine it can scald you . you can drain it cold but the oil takes longer to drain being thicker

If you have put too much oil in the car first of all I would advise you not to start the engine.

You will need to look underneath the car and you should be able to find a sump plug at the bottom of the engine. Get a tray and unscrew the plug. The oil will thne drain from the engine.

uh first off how much oil is your engine suposed to use?4 qts 5 qts?if you need to drain some out slowly back the oil plug out.back it out till it starts dripping oil.then get one of your oil bottles and drain it out into the oil bottles.but only take out the excess oil.like if your car needs 4 qts of oil but you put 5qts in drain out only one quart.
