Of course it does. We all know that certain news organizations have a liberal agenda, and others have a conservative agenda, and they're both equally guilty of "spin-doctoring." Instead of objective reporting on facts that would allow the viewers to draw their own conclusions, the facts are put out in such a way that supports the agenda of the news organization reporting them. It's also very common for news organizations to have facts and deliberately not report them because they don't fit into their agenda.

EXAMPLE: In 1995, First Lieutenant Kelly Flynn of the United States Air Force was facing court-martial for a host of offenses including adultery, false official statement, disobeying a lawful order, etc. The mainstream liberal media focused almost entirely on the adultery charge and accused the Air Force leaders of promoting outdated morals. Kelly Flynn was basically portrayed as a wide-eyed youngster who made a mistake, followed her heart, and was getting burned by the good-ol'-boy network of male Air Force leadership. As a result, she was allowed to resign her commission and separate with a general discharge in lieu of court-martial.

So let me play Paul Harvey and tell you "the rest of the story" that the mainstream liberal media was criminally negligent in failing to report: The wife of the guy Kelly Flynn was screwing around with, who was an enlisted person in the Air Force, reported the situation to her First Sergeant. That First Sergeant confronted Lt Flynn and told her that this guy was still married, so she was technically committing adultery. Her response was basically "Duly noted, thank you." A few months later, when Lt Flynn's commander found out about it, did he nail her to the wall? NO -- he asked her if she had a relationship with this guy, and this commissioned officer (who by virtue of her rank is supposed to be a leader of enlisted troops everywhere and was taught to set the proper example) flat out lied to her commander and signed a statement saying there was no relationship. Two months later, when her commander found out she had lied, did he nail her to the wall then? NO -- he gave her a direct order not to have any contact whatsoever with this guy. And what did this shining example of leadership among airmen do? She signed the order, acknowledging the fact that failure to obey was a court-martial offense, and went home to her boy-toy without informing her commander that she was now living with him. It wasn't until their relationship went sour and Lt Flynn was afraid for her own personal safety that she told her commander that she was now living with him.

Now, I KNOW that anyone who remembers this story from the news back then will be amazed to hear this. The mainstream liberal media didn't report ANY of it. Why? Simple. Their mission was to bash the military, so any mention of wrongdoing on the part of poor, wide-eyed, heart-strong Kelly Flynn would deflate their military-bashing agenda. The Office of Public Affairs for the Secretary of the Air Force provided ALL of this information to the press, so why is it that no one heard anything about Kelly Flynn disobeying orders until Air Force Chief of Staff General Robert Fogleman addressed Congress? A shining example of freedom of SUPPRESS.

"It takes a smart person to know they can only believe half of what they hear. It takes a wise person to know which half to believe." If you consider yourself a free-thinking person, question EVERYTHING the media tells you.

Mainstream news is owned by corporations. These corporations lay down rules about what can be reported and how. So, yes, lies or half-truths or distortions or just plain non-coverage of issues happens all the time.

I have found that most thing sthat are labeled Mainstream are created by spinsters with some kind of political or finiancial agenda. They all are trying to sell something, or impose their beliefs upon other's.
