I am 38 weeks and 3 days pregnant and I have been having a mucous dicharge for about 2 weeks now...Is that a normal amount of time for a mucous plug to come out... I know that it can come out all at once or slowly over time.. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this...

Mine started coming piece by piece out at 28 weeks and by 36 weeks it was all gone. My friends came out all at once at 37 weeks. It's different for everyone.

You should be having regular check-ups by your doctor. The next time you go there - ask him this question. Just to get an accurate answer and besides he should know of all your experiences of the pregnancy - in case it's important.

The plug is like jelly, with blood in it. Even if it comes out little by little there will be parts with blood in it, and it will be like gel.

Mucus discharge increases with pregnancy, You can actually have it run down your leg, and fill up a panty liner. Its normal.

It's normal, if not gross. Just watch for any changes in color, that can indicate mirconium which is the babies first bowl movement. If that happens you will need to see the doctor right away as it is dangerous for the baby.
