Only fools believe the conspiracy idiocy - people who know nothing but what their buddies text and email them.
Do please ask yourself how over 7 years of Apollo, hundreds of controllers working on dozens of monitors could be fooled into thinking they were watching lunar expeditions.
It is preposterous to even think otherwise - these people were top of the line, highly trained, some had been doing the job since the early manned space programs. It is laughable to think you could get a Hollywood past them.
It is a gross insult to all the thousands of people who gave up parts of their lives to make it all happen. An insult to the billions spent to develop the giant Saturn V and the very special lunar lander than took 9 years to go from the drawing board to reality and only just made it for 1969.
All those who revel in these stupid conspiracy theories should just grow up. Really!

For some reason every time something happens thats good or bad in america everyone wants to either blame it on the government or say it really didnt happen but they have no proof. For instance, the reason most people say that we didnt go to the moon is because in the documentary of the first moon landing the flag is supposedly moving but ive watched it at least 10 times and never once have i seen the flag moving at all so i dont understand were yall get this crap from.

Simple answer: We didn't fake them.
One of the big conspiracy theories states that the flag wouldn't "flap" in the breeze since there is no atmosphere on the moon. That is not true; there is air everywhere in space as well as gravity. It just has less effect. Heck, look at all the lunar dust! Where did that come from if there was nothing moving in the air! Astronauts appear to float in space not because of lack of gravity. The appear to float in space but really they are in complete freefall. They don't fall down to earth though because they are in orbit which means their horizontal velocity is such that they follow the curve of the earth instead of falling straight down.

A right fair question, and one for which the conspiracy theorists seem to have no response.
The Soviets didn't call our bluff because we never made a bluff. The moon landings really happened. Why is that so hard for some folks to believe?

When you ask the question 'why wouldn't ...' you make the assumption that the person to whom you are addressing the question can follow the logical reasoning behind your question.
Those who 'believe' that the moon landings were faked are not using any system of logic that can be understood by any reasoning mind.
They are neither logical nor reasoning and would never allow evidence, facts, argument, questions, debate, conclusions or common sense deflect them from their belief. They believe - and their belief does not have to be explained to anyone (those that also believe do not need explanations and non-believers would never understand anyway).
Thus the question is meaningless noise to those that 'believe' :-)

The Soviets would have jumped at the chance to expose a fake U.S. Moon landing. But they didn't, because the landings were real.

Exactly. The same is true for the conspiracy theory about the twin towers.
What happens is that nowadays it is fashionable, trendy, to deny any US achievement. Any book or film following such trend makes millions of dollars.
The supreme art of disinformation is taking its toll.
Is the cold war really over, or is it just its backlash?
