Yes.
There was a law passed in 1886 that make it impossible for human to get in touch or talk to them.
Another law passed in 1907 protect their species .
Then in 1920 the government put them all in camps because they were trying to rebel against the human oppressors...
After that sad episode very little was known about yetis.

I'm not sure if it's nationwide, but I know California and I think Colorado have laws protecting Bigfoot. There may be more.

Laws like this are hard to pass because there just aren't enough people that even believe in a bigfoot. Too many would say that's like declaring the Easter Bunny endangered.

Well, I dont know about the rest of the country, but the way that Idahos laws on killing animals is written, they only tell you what you CANT kill, not what you CAN kill. So, that said, if anyone in Idaho ever saw a big foot or Yeti or whatever, they can fill him full of led, and they will prolly be rich for it too.

They do exist. One was shot in Westmoreland County PA in 1973 and it was recorded moaning in the woods. The evidence of footprints, vocal recordings and sightings is overwhelming. They are very smart and know to avoid us at all costs because we are a threat to them because of our ability to use firearms against them. There have been many killings of big foot throughout history and they have passed this fear of humans down through the generations. I have studied them since I had my encounter in 1986 in Wind Gap, PA. and I was with 4 other people. It broke trees, not sticks, TREES like they were tooth picks! It scared us so bad we fled as fast as we could and never went back. They need to be protected.

They are not recognized as real creatures. But it is possible they were believed sometime in the past. But I do not recall anyone putting protection laws on animals in the past. Protecting animals came about in like... the 40s or later.

There's one simple reason - so far, despite all the footprints and even the film, there's no evidence that they exist. I'm not saying they don't, but until a physical specimen is brought in, there's no scientific proof they do.
Sorry.

Once the BIGFOOT existance is proven, they can be protected. But first we MUST KILL one to prove it exists.
