This might make me sound naive but here it is... Is there a sure-fire sign for me to distinguish flirting from touchy-feely? I'm straight.
I have a friend who talks about my ***(butt) all the time (she used the word"perfect", she has also told a mutual friend that i have nice shaped legs and told me she loves my long eyelashes. After a few rounds of tequila one night she was grabbing my ***, wrapping her arms me from behind etc. The next morning she was indirectly apologizing saying she was just teasing my fat ***(not in those words) and she's not looking at it the way a guy would. Note that I'm very well aware different sexualities that exists in this world and even if she is too but she seems to have classified herself as totally straight so whatever she says and whatever she does isn't, for her "left-handed".
She's also pretty touchy-feely with everyone else so I'm wondering whether I'm just being a tight *** about all this?!

That is a tough one. I think she definitely finds you 'attractive' (whatever that means to her), but she probably doesn't want to make you feel awkward and pressured and therefore sounded apologetic the next day. I say, take it for what it is... a great compliment!! If you are uncomfortable with it, tell her - if she really is a friend, she will understand.

Sorry, there is no sure-fire sign for you. However they is a teeny-weeny chance she likes you (or your butt) a lot. Also we all know what a bit of alcohol do you us too... But if she's 'touchy-feely' with others too, I don't think you have anything to worry about. But all the same why don't you just ask her?

Sounds like maybe she does enjoy the attention...
Also by flirting maybe she is testing the water to see how you react ? Also beer doesn't help if she is rather outragous anyway...
So if this happens on nights out , i'd say its just beer...
If even when she is sober, maybe she is attracted to you...
Maybe just say it makes you feel un comfortuable, or go for it lol ha ha....

I guess it all boils down to how YOU feel about it. If it makes you uncomfortable, tell her. It sounds to me like she's bi, and more than likely is hitting on you, but is too afraid to say it. If you're straight, and you've already told her, then she's making (persumably) unwelcome advances, AND knows it, AND is trying to "wear you down" (like getting you drunk), then feels guilty about it. Some people are just "huggy" by nature, but generally go with your first instinct.

She could be bi when drunk, but if she was sober and talking about how great your rear is, it sounds like she's interested. With how serious it sounds like she tried to downplay her drunken flirting, it almost sounds like she's just really far in the closet.

She may have "tendencies" and she's probably not "out" to herself yet. She may think she's straight because she's attracted to men and doesn't notice that she's also attracted to certain women (or maybe just you). It's possible that--someday in the future--she'll discover that she's bisexual.

You shoulnd't judge by what a few drinks does to a person, you should ask her about her true feelings, and let her know how you stand.
