First off "(not born a superior American)" is just plain rude! Spelling of words (or misspellings) do not constitute whether a person is dumb or not. To intentionally misspell the word as DUME when you know how to correctly spell the word - THAT is stupid.

The definition of DUMB is "unable to speak; lacking intelligence".

No, i wouldn't consider an immigrant who misspelled a word here or there incorrectly to be dumb... especially if english is the 3rd or 4th language down on the foodchain.

However, AMERICANS who can't spell the word dumb (and there are many of them) are, in fact, "DUME." They have no excuse.
