a lil background...
I went to the USC vs ND at south bend last year. He was there on a recruiting trip. The fans treated him like a god, and most kept saying he'd beat SC all 4 yrs and win a couple national championships....he was a junior in high school!! Again at this years game, after theyre loss, a few were chanting "WE GOT CLAUSEN!" Hes a good high school QB but heres some things i question...(1) he competed in DIV 3, small schools, very lil competition. (2)his school ( like all private schools) recruited an array of talent to surround him ( 9 div 1 prospects). (3) in the st championship against a team with similar talent, he and his team struggled to pull off a victory in OT ( after killing all of their weak div 3 opponets in the reg season, sometimes scoring 60+ pts)...he threw 1 td and 3 int...

is he over rated??????

Robert,
good observation. i think if he enters assuming hell win every game he may not focus on the important things. but Weis is a great coach, im sure he'll keep him focused.
he was 6 of 13 1td and 3 int in the 1st half of the st champ game. 2cd half didnt do much just handed it off and maintaned the lead....

Peyton Manning went to a small high school in Louisiana and look where he is today! Clausen has the same potential and athleticism. All he needs is luck with his health, and a good supporting cast, which ND will give him.

Too much hype for him is not good. Remember Ron Powlus. Quinn was an excellent QB and even he didn't beat USC. Still I don't like all the hype it can end up being a huge distraction.

It will depend largely on the weapons he has around him. If Weis recruits well Clausen should do well.

Didn't he just throw a couple picks in the state title game?

Absouletly not. First off, Notre Dame just doesn't have the speed to compete for a national championship (like now). Secondly, Notre Dame fans just like to hype up anyone who goes to their school. Cough*Ron Powlus, Rocket Ismail*Cough. Lastly, I've seen footage of play. HIGHLY overrated. He plays on a freakin all star team and his competition is basically like the Junior varsity cheerleader squad. He throws check downs and lets them pick up huge yards after catch.

i ought to have been the only person in the international that did no longer understand HSM2 replaced into popping out this evening, yet I got here approximately to be residing house and capture it.
