Sony VAIO. It's not bad, but was fairly expensive. You could always get a Dell, but I personally don't like them. In my opinion, you can build a good computer cheaper than you can buy a pre-assembled pc.

I bought a Dell, and could not afford to pay in full, applied for dell financing, the gave me a limit of 3000, got a good computer with plenty of hard drive space (60 GB), and 1 GB of memory, plus DVD player and CD burner, 1.8 GHz processor. They gave me 18 months no interest, and my payments were $32 a month, paying $68 so that I have it paid off before the end of the 18 month period. Have not had any majors problems, but I would suggest making sure you have a good anti-virus. Even got a 19" flat panel monitor for no extra cost. My wife is on this computer nearly 24/7, and no problems so far, and this has been for the last 10-11 months.

I use a Toshiba laptop. I have 3 of them. I don't use dekstop computers.
As for desktop system I can't honestly say. I do know that the computers on my network are Dell and for the most part have been pretty good. As for problems, I have seen that there is a rise in the need to replace the motherboards and power supplies in some of the Optiplex models due to transistors going out.
I would definitely say I would NOT by HP!! Good Luck shopping.

hard question... Macs are quite good and final a at the same time as, in spite of the shown fact that no longer many classes have compatibility with the MAC... pc, is greater universally like minded yet lots greater services to gadget faults and viruses... if your finding for a good laptop laptop, i might pass mac, yet once you're in seek of for something to serve a particular purpose, it quite is quite useful to pass pc... value is additionally a controversy... desktops may be low priced, yet maintenance may be high priced, the place as macs will final long with few problems, yet are far greater high priced. in terms of consumer friendliness, desktops are very confusing to verify, the place as macs are frequently relatively understood and used.
