Yeah, pretty much. He was clearly the glue that held that team together. Had better stats too.

I know it was nearly 20 years ago, I'm still pissed that Kirk Gibson beat Strawberry in 88. I'm so upset that I still can't leave the house during day light hours.

Seriously, get over it. I'm sure Jeter is more worried about next year than last (besides, the voters went out on a limb and picked the right guy instead of the popular matinee idol).

He won a Gold Glove that he didn't deserve, so losing the MVP was just a little payback.

Personally, I probably would have voted for him, but I wouldn't sweat it - like another guy said, awards in baseball are mostly bogus, and those who know baseball appreciate Jeter. I'm not a Yankee fan, but he's a great player.

I'm happy he didn't. Morneau clearly deserved it. Would the Yankees still have made the playoffs without Jeter? Probably. Would the Twins? Doubtful. Morneau had a .321 average AND 30+ homers. He was also, I think, 2nd in the league in RBIs. If we're going to talk numbers, clearly Morneau had the edge. If you're going to talk value to his team, clearly the Twins would not have gotten as far without him. Just look back at the beginning of the season. When Morneau was stinking it up in April, so were the Twins. When he turned it around, so did the Twins.

It doesn't pay to be upset anymore. We all know that Jeter was the true MVP. Regardless of what happens he is a future hall of famer and the Yankees are prime to win it all next season. I really have my doubts as to the logic behind some of the voters. Some truly don't know what they are doing.

I'm done with it. Lets just get on with baseball. Jeter knows how valuable he was to the Yankees so do the NY fans.

Let it go, champ. It's done with, stewing about it just makes people bitter. I'm all for people being bitter against the Twins and Morneau, but in all actuallity, the MVP is bogus, as is any sports award. Let it go, and get ready for next season.
