interested in going back to school, but I get sad that Im so behind what I could be. I did go for my esthetician license, which is what I wanted to do, but its hard to start up your own business, and Ive sorta wished I didnt waste the time or money on that profession. I feel crappy. I think about going to school now, but Im ready to have a child in the next year or so, and then I will be busy with school, and then a new career. I just feel so lost and like I took the wrong path. I had no guidance, no one to push me. :( Now Im stuck with the results...

let me ask you a question...who is stopping you from doing ANYTHING you want to do?

There are a lot of people like you. My mother told me that college would be a waste of 4 years.

Someone asked if there was anyone stopping you from succeeding? I bet in reality there is no one, but you are holding on to erroneous ideas given you by people who were not interested in seeing succeed.
Someone somewhere told you that you can't succeed and you believed it. You can make a great living as an esthetician and put money away toward your own business. Step by step. You will find it is a lot easier to make a decision when you have the money to pay for it.

If you really don't want this, then take a quiet moment and dream about where you would like to be in 5 years in a perfect world. If you can single out something, then find out what the steps are to succeed at it. Then take a breath,

In the new year, take the first step. See? the world did not close in on you. Now take the second step. You see ? It's starting to become possible,

First off, cheer up. You need to find all the great things about your life and that will give you motivation to move forward. Next, a lot of times the only one there that will give you a push is you. You need to decide for yourself what is best for you. At the time in 2001 you decided to not go to college and now you've changed you're mind. There is no time limit to going to college believe it or not. People go right out of high school, wait a few years, don't have kids, have kids, go back after kids, take courses to further their current career, or even go back much later in life. The possibilities are endless for you, all you have to do decide right now what's best for you. You didn't take a wrong path in life, you learned what you could on the path you chose and now you're moving on. Don't worry, it will work out in the end...it always does!

Sometimes waiting to go to college can be a good thing. I went to college shortly out of highschool and had a really good time- resulting in a really low GPA. In my late 20's I went back to college and continued to work full time - I also managed to maintain a 3.85. I had a different mindset and a want to have good grades. I had been in the real world and realized that without that piece of paper my financial options were limited. There are many options out there for financing your education - first I would register at www.fastweb.com - then contact the school you intent to go to and work with their financial aid office. They will have forms and websites to help you out. Since I had opted to reduce my work hours I took out more on student loans than just for the tuition and books - I also took money out to offset the money I would not be getting from working extra hours.
Good Luck and don't get discrouaged - if you look around college campuses yoou will find a more diverse age group than you would have thought. One more thing - I would also suggest taking your core classes at a community or junior college - smaller classrooms.

Hey...life is jus abt twists and turns...Its never too late to pursue ur passion or wherever u want to go...If u r gonna have a baby then take ur time until ur sure that ur baby doesnt need u around...maybe when the baby is a year or two old and then put in ur foot firmly...I have friends who went back to school when they were thirty...dont worry about what the others are thinking about u...its ur only life and u live it the way u want to...lastly remember...Our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are but...we are responsible for who we become...so cheer up and put in ur foot forward...create the world u wanted to live the way it should be and always wera a smile:-)

Don't give up hope! You can do it if you work hard. Look into one of those part-time programs to train yourself as a dental or medical assistant. They are in REALLY high demand and have VERY competitive wages (as high as 70K). You would be working with people and helping them, and the hours are great so you could take care of a child. You are your own person, not your husband's wife or anyone's servant [except God :)]. SO get out there and do it! Good luck!

You probably were not ready to go to school. As a rule adult students do better because they are much more motivated and focused Why don't you start small say at a community college? They often times have career counselors to help you get started.

you've heard the quote of our generation.. "30's the new 20".. don't feel bad.. you have plenty of time left

it's never too late to go back to school.. i have friends almost in their 30's that are still finishing up

you're not the only one going through it.. i never finished college (because i felt it wasn't for me at the time) and have been stuck in the corporate world for 7 years..

although i'm making a decent living.. i know i will NEVER reach my full potential where i'm at.. i promised myself that i won't be stuck here for 30 years.. i am simply using what i have now as a stepping stone

there's so much more to life.. so many ways to be succeed.. you just have to find that creative niche

sometimes to move ahead.. you have to step back

Its never too late to start again; it takes hard work and dedication to get what you want. Have you ever heard of interest free small buisness loans for hundreds of thousands of dollars? How about PAID TRAINING AND PAID EXPERIENCE? How about MONEY FOR SCHOOL? Its just information off the surface I can talk to you about with absolutely NO OBLIGATION cause honestly, what's the harm in knowing more?

Sounds to me like you're indecisive. Make a decision and stick with it. Seriously, It's not anyone else's job to make sure you're life works out or "push" you to do the right thing. Cowboy up, grab the bull by horns and make some important decisions and stick with them. REMEMBER: "The journey of a 1000 miles... begins with the first step".

Your a woman. If you want to be truely happy, marry an educated, successful man, and raise a bunch of children and make a good home, and play Bridge with your neighbors on Sunday night.

Nothing will depress you more than dedicating yourself to a career to make your life better, only to find out in your EARLY 30s(yes early) that you are too old to have children.

If you don't believe me about that age thing, ask a doctor. While women in their mid 40's can have children, really it is kind of rare. The truth is that when a woman turns 30, her odds of having children drop significantly.

The bottom line is, what is the point of living if you have no way of passing it on to future generations? Thats my opinion.
