When it comes to adding a window to your PC to put fans in, or add lighting, ECT. Can this be done to a regular PC or do you need to have a special case first?

Serious modders use any case they have lying around. Common tools include dremmels, drills and tin-snips for adding windows and holes.

I suppose you could cut the aluminum in the case with tin sheers if you really wanted to. But if all you're looking for is a window I'd just get a case with a window already in it. There are some cool ones out there cheap ($30/$40) on newegg.com or mwave.com

If you know the brand name of the case, contact the company and see if you can get a panel with a window in it. Case fans come in many different sizes, measure in millimeters and order the correct size for your case. Fans also come withe red, and blue LED lights in them. There are lighted floppy drive cables, and neon type lights for the inside of your case.
