Are we giving too much to the bootleg folks?

That's exactly what it is, have you noticed that in the past few years alot of the charts don't even have hip hop and r and b albums on them. If they were to go by how many times an album has been downloaded, I'm sure it would have came out different.

I think the reason most rap or even hip-hop artist arent platinum is because upper class people world wide go out and buy the album, but most of them who really listen to it are just downloading and burning them so that's not helping them at all

People today are turning to bootlegging and downloading instead of paying 15 dollars for a who CD.

because.. why would someone buy the cd for 15$ when he can just download the songs from itunes or buy it for $5.. cause chances are that only like 4-5 of the songs will be good.. the days of cd's having all good songs are over!! there are no more biggie or tupacs left

The only way he would be above another rapper like nas or jay z is because big hip hop acts are easier to get off of internet. They are more readily available so people are burning their **** while people may not be able to get his stuff off of the web!!

maybe- I was thinking that with ipod, zune & the rest, not everyone is buying an actual album.

We may see a new way to determine the status in the future

why not? fifteen dollars for a cd where the music gets old fast and i can get it cheaper makes sense. besides i get my music off itunes
