It's actually in between LA and SD but Orange County has a pretty cool New Year's Eve Celebration at the OC Fairgrounds...
not sure if they have fireworks but check it out.. they even drop an "orange" instead of a ball at midnight!

those are the two dazzling trip spots. in the past I moved to la, when I took a trip right here, I constantly took an afternoon or 2 for a edge holiday to San Diego. San Diego does not have rather as mush stuff yet those issues are closed together. la has extra stuff to make sure and do yet those issues are very some distance aside ans you will spend extra time using between them. I recommend that in case you're in la for say 6 days that your loved ones bypass to San Diego for an over nighter as portion of the holiday.
