What moves the oracle? Is it your subconcious mind or is it a powerful medium to a world unknown? Do you have one? Have you experienced one? What are you seeking when you use one? Would you ever use one? Was your experience good or bad? Scary, sad? Magical? Inspiring? What about spirits and ghosts? Ever seen one? Tell it all. I'm curious.
*I have one by the way, but I just want other views.

I own one, and I know a lot about them. I have close friends who study wiccan. Although, I am not as into it as they are, I do have a lot of experience with this sort of thing. My point in this was basically to ask you of your experiences. I already know the risks.

Ouija Boards on a whole are just supposed to be for fun. But seriously - I have had some pretty freaky experiences with them.

One time me and my friends were playing with it and got the spirit of a little boy who got very angry when we wanted to put the board away and go do something else. The last word he spelled was angel. 5 seconds later - the Lenox Angel on my fireplace mantle fell off to the floor but - DID NOT SHATTER!!!!!

Have asked questions to find lost things in the house. 50% of the time the board was right.

My house is very old and I have seen ghosts in my house. I have had things moved from one place to another in the house. Once I placed my keys on the living room coffee table (I was the only person in the house at the time) When I went back to the living room to retrieve my keys to go out - they were not there. I went crazy for about 10 minutes trying to find my keys. When I finally found them - they were in the upstairs extra bedroom on the nightstand.

When I was a child - my dead relatives would come and talk to me. My favorite Aunt who died when I was 7 came to me alot after her funeral and I wanted to go with her but she told me that when it was my time - I would see her again. It has been a while since I have seen anyone I know. I have been told my great grandmother was clairvoyant and was able to see things in the future. Most of my dreams have come true. As I get older, it happens less frequently but when I do see something, it usually happens or will happen.

Ouija boards do not "contact the spirit world". They are not "evil". They do not "open a doorway". They do not "summon demons". That's all part of the Ouija board's mythos.

Ouija boards rely on the imperceptible muscular movements of those touching the planchet -- The thing that indicates letters.

Penn and Teller on their Showtime Show, "Bullsh*t" (with the letter I) fully and soundly debunked Ouija boards.

They had a group of people use a Ouija board normally. The planchet indicated words, apparently answered questions, etc. Nobody claimed to be moving the planchet. All very typical.

They then blindfolded the group and, without telling the group, rotated the Ouija board 180 degrees. The board didn't function as it did when the group was not blindfolded. For example, when a Yes/No question was asked, the planchet indicated the spots that "Yes" or "No" had been before the board was rotated. Neither did any words get accurately spelled out by the planchet.

Obviously, either spirits are completely blind or the Ouija board opperates based on the imperceptible muscular actions of the participants.

Set your intentions before you use it and ask for protection. Make sure they are good intentions and you should connect with good spirits. But always be cautious about advise or contacts which seem to have too much of spirits ego involved.

My Grandmother used a Ouija board while in college back in the 1940's. She got a story that she submitted to her English teacher and received an A.

Do be careful. Like anything with power, there can be good or evil.

Movement of the "oracle", as you call it, is simply an unconscious act of those playing the game. There is no such thing as a "medium to a world unknown." But there such a thing as a sucker - and that's exactly what you are if you buy into this crap.

A religious answer. Demons do. If you throw it away, the demons make it come back, so don't play with one. My mom played with one and something turned off the light. She had a hard time getting rid of it to.

One good piece of advice. ´Don´t play with it. It is not a toy.
Get rid of it.
