i am gettin a better deal with compaq...the only problem bein that the processor is amd turion...?

i hav doubts whether the amd processor will be in any way inferior in performance compared to intel...i m mainly concerned abt d so called coolin prob in amd processors...most ppl hav adviced me 2 go 4 intel but really i m gettin a far better deal with amd...wht shud i do???

I am using a Compaq laptop, with AMD turion64bit processor...there is absolutely no problem and in no way inferior to intel.But its better if u install 1gb ram, if u r usin lot of graphics. since u can save atleast 5-6k on processor, as compared to intel, u can invest it on ram. Since AMD has higher cache memory compared to intel, you can simply buy it...currently 4 of us are having same model and not even a single problem...my model is v3029au, which is relaunched as v3031au....costs about 48k, with 1gb ram.

A word of warning, my friend: I had a Compaq PC and will NEVER get another Compaq product because it was loaded with so much proprietary software that I had no choice but to call Compaq customer service any time I had a problem with the stupid thing...and their customer service SUCKS!!!

Stick with the AMD, cooling is not a problem, laptops always run hot.

Performance/cost is better with a turion.
