Was Scheherazade a real person or a fictional character?
And if fictional who wrote it?
And if about a real person who was the real person and when did they live?
Is there an older story told by others, or other tales?
Was Edgar Allen Poe involved in the telling?

The story is interesting, but well known, what is less known is that actual story of how the story came to be known, and then popularized in the west.
I have heard Edgar Allen Poe originally told the tale in the west, but cannot confirm.
I was also interested at how many details are actually history if any.
