i put some engine oil in my car and now its procuing too much fmes..smoking oout the whole area. please help

Did you spill any? Oil on an engine or exhaust or even the frame-rail and close to the engine will heat the oil, produce a smell of burning oil and even smoke. Before you go nuts, double-check to see that you didn't spill any.

Have you checked the dipstick to see if you have too much in there?

Was it out of oil when you added it? If so maybe major engine damage.

Check to make sure you the engine is not leaking the oil out onto the engine.

If it is get it to you mechanic pronto!

Check your oil level. You might have put too much in.
Also if its smoking from the front you might have spilt some oil on the engine.

stop the car and check your oil level with the dipstick. you probably put too much and you drive like that you're going to blow a gasket.

Did you put the engine oil filler cap back on.
(done that myself)
