It's a pretty outdoor mall, with pretty good shopping that is connected to some good eats like Maggiano's and Corner Bakery. It's a great place to people-watch. I like going to the Farmer's Market that is right by the Grove for fresh produce and fun, little shops. There's a really pretty fountain there. In fact, I think it was designed by the same person who did the fountain at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

Like someone else said though, I would avoid it around the holidays because it is paaaacked.

If you don't like massive crowds, you might want to avoid The Grove right now. The place is saturated with holiday shoppers, and parking is a nightmare.

But it is pretty. It's an upscale shopping center. The main department store is Nordstroms. The high end attractions include: Apple Store, American Girl Boutique, J. Crew, Anthropologie, Crate & Barrel and a big Gap store.

Eateries are all high-end in there. Cheesecake Factory is popular (but I don't like it). There's Whisper Lounge and some frou-frou restaurants. Maggiano's is adjascent. I like to eat at the Farmers Market next door, though. Great variety of goodies!

The Grove, in my opinion, is much smaller than a lot of other malls in Southern California. However, when I went (which was around March) it was PACKED....on a normal Saturday afternoon, it felt like holiday season.

It is an outdoor mall, in a promenade type setting. Very scenic.

Can't remember all the good stores, but they did have some of the normals: Victorias Secret, Forever 21, Nordstrom, Pac Sun, Anthropologie.

the grove is a fabricated fantasyland of suburbia Orange County misplaced in the middle of Los Angeles. everything from the main street, the fountain and the park with astro turf is as fake as disneyland. its a shame that a culturally dynamic and diverse city such as Los Angeles has this 2 blocks of architecturally ugly commercialism in the middle of the city.

the effects of the grove have ruined the classic Los Angeles charm of the farmers market next door. the small mom and pop shops that use to adorn the stalls of the farmers market have been replaced by shi-shi boutique shops and a expensively disguised food court.

just say NO to the grove and go down melrose avenue. or venice beach. or beverly boulevard. or sunset junction in silver lake. even the beverly center is better than the grove.

The Grove is the Disneyland of malls. If that's what you're into, it's great. I'd recommend it for kids. But the actual number of shops is pretty small. Nordstorms is the only department store. But, I do love the Farmer's Market there. There are a bunch of small stalls with some great food--I recommend the Mexican place that's right in the middle. There are some great fruit stands there as well.

It's very festive. There's a cute water fountain, like a mini version of the fountain from Bellagio.

It is very beautiful, esp. at Christmas time. Any restaurant is great there.
