I might get an xbox 360 because my xbox isn't working anymore. I need to know if they work on the 360 because I have alot of regular xbox games that I hope will work on the 360. Help?

Sometimes.
When they decide to update the list. They do this about every three months.
Here is the current list of backwards compatible games.

some of them do. not all of them though. microsoft is working on getting all xbox games to work on the xbox 360.

Only popular games, like the Xbox Platinum Hits versions. Otherwise, no.
