The standard olympic pool is 50 meters. In swimming, the 1500 meter and the 1650 yard events are considered to be a mile. So in a 50 meter pool, a mile is 30 lengths or 15 laps. In a 25 yard pool, it's 66 lengths or 33 laps.

An Olympic size pool is 50 meters in length. In swimming, the 1500 meter event is considered to be the mile. That's 30 lengths of the pool or 15 laps of the pool.
