How much what? money?
You need space which could involve making the house bigger and cost tens of thousands of dollars.
If you have space but just need to move some walls and put in a closet door, maybe a couple thousand for that (framing, drywall, painting, carpet).
Once you have a little room with a door then you need shelves, drawers, etc, etc. Here you can do a simple shelf and rod for a few hundred dollars or you can have custom built brazilian rosewood cabinets with drawers, shelves, a TV set, stereo system, automatic shoe polisher and pants presser, and massage chair for maybe $100,000.
For something sane, very nice looking, easy to install yourself, and priced higher than Home Depot kits but cheaper than full custom you might enjoy my favorite supplier. http://www.easyclosets.com They have a really cool online design tool that generates cost estimates for you. The stuff all comes UPS and is easy to install if you're somewhat handy and can carry heavy bits of particle board around.

depending on how elaborate you want it, could go from 500 dollars to much more. You can contact a contractor or a local handyman, most will give you free estimates, but if you do it yourself you will save lots of money. The project would be fairly simple but you may run into a few hitches. Know a handyman you can call on if you run into a snag if you choose to do it yourself.

3,000 dollars
you may think thats high but you have to keep in mind your going to have to frame up a wall(possibly tear out the old small closet) so materials play a big factor here. next electricall work may be a factor to supply lighting then drywall. and of course you will want a door with trim. next the shelving and finally paint ,I mean the material list is huge, . Your looking at close to a week in labor plus materials.

My walk-in closet is 7 feet wide, 9 feet deep with a 9 foot ceiling, allowing taller storage shelves above the rod space.

figure the square footage and multiply it by $70.00--$100.00 per square foot. If you doing it in the basement, use a lower figure.
