I was supposed to get my period December 5/06 and on that day took a home pregnancy test. It was positive but to be sure I took another one about a week later and it also was positive. The last 4 nights in a row at about 7 or 8 pm I start spotting and cramping. I feel uncomfortable and restless the whole night and then during the day I am fine. I don't have a doctor yet because this city sucks so my question is if this would be serious enough to go to emergeny or wait until after holidays when I get into a regular doctor? Also throughout the night the spotting progresses from light pink to red then stops. It's really weird.

Sounds like it could be serious. To be honest if you were going to miscarry there isn't much a Dr or hospital can do for you this early in your pregnancy. Just try to stay off your feet as much as possible during the day.

this is how my miscarriage started out. First spotting a little at 8 weeks, and I was spotting for 2-3 days and had very uncomfortable light cramping. And then I just started bleeding very heavily - I lost the baby.... :(
So at least call your hospital and ask them if you should come there and get checked or something... But they'll probably tell you to wait and see what will happen next. GOOD LUCK.

I guess you could wait to go to the doctor. Only problem is that the blood is red, if it were brownish color it would be old blood from the uterus. Alot of women spot on early pregnancy and go on to have healthy babies. However if a miscarriage were in progress there is nothing a doctor can do to stop it this early in pregnancy.
You may want to go to the doctor and have them check your progesterone levels, I have heard that low levels can cause spotting and possible miscarriage. If you are really worried skip the ER and call a OB/GYN and call them and tell them what is going on and they should work you in.

If you are both bleeding and cramping then you need to go to the doctor. While it does not always mean miscarriage, it is a big sign. I was bleeding and cramping at 5 weeks so I had to go in for an ultrasound. I only had a subchorionic hemorrhage that ended up clearing on its own, but I was put on bedrest. Please just go to the doctor. If it is nothing than ok, but it could be serious.

yes, I had contractions every 2 minutes for over 24 hours with my daughter, they sent me home twice.. I was finally admitted when i got to 4 cm, then went another 12 hours with the same contractions. At that point I chose to be induced, as I couldn't take it anymore. follow what your doctors/nurse said. If you are really worried I would just go back. if they send you home again, Maybe try walking around the hospital or parking lot for a while to see if it moves things along

I have had multiple miscarrages, I suggest if the bleeding gets worse, then you need to take a trip to the hospital. If the bleeding gets worse then a period, then go to the hospital, if the cramps get unbearable, then go to the hospital. I bleed for the first four months of my pregnancy, and am now 34 weeks pregnant. other things can factor, but if you bleed alot the get looked at. It can be seriouse. good luck

I think people have gone to the emergency room for much less than that, and if you are concerned you should go. Bright red blood is not a good sign and it's a long time until the holidays are over. They might not be able to do much for you at the emergency room, but at least it you will be doing something other than worrying.

Spotting is normal in some pregnancies, but excessive spotting could mean you are having a miscarriage.

i have had 4 miscarriages. You need to go to the doctor. If the bleeding keeps up, then you need to go to the ER.
