I think it depends on the person that your with. I think we create our own magic and romance. If you are a romantic person and you are with someone who isn't or is romantically inept, chances are you won't see the world as full of love and romance.

Lucky me, I am a romantic person with a romantic person and we both believe in creating our own magic - so yeah, as disgusting as it may seem to some - our world has moments of rainbows and butterflies!

Romance, like happiness, is never an illusion. We are never too old to enjoy the romance of life. As to life being an illusion, how would we ever care to learn if that were true?

For me romance is the hope and desire to share my life with someone i deeply love, so no, despite all disappointment and hurt i haven't given that up and i hope i never will. Romance is here, even if not always connected to a certain person.
True love is free of illusions and fairytales. It's so much harder and better then that.

I think around 50 people find that their youthful dreams have all dissipated. This happens to the most successful people as well.

Mark Twain spoke about a friend who was a professor, This guy never fulfilled his dreams. He wanted to be a cowboy.

Giacomo Puccini, the world's most popular opera composer entered his old age disillusioned and very lonely. He had people all over the world clamoring for him and his music, yet he remained unfulfilled.

It depends on the person. I'm 51 and feel more in love than I ever have, as does she. So, don't give up. It's all on your outlook. Then secret to it all is to live in the present. Most people live in the past or the future, thinking about past relationships or ones yet to come. The smart ones know it's the person (people) in your life right now that mater.

I have to say that it all depends on your perspective. If you have found a mate that you are in love with - you could be any age. If you're single and lonely - again this could happen at any age.

Love can be a cycle. One day you believe in it, a year later you might not. There's no age that defines that. It's all in where your heart is at that moment.

I think it's right after you finish HS and head into the real world. You think you have the whole world in your hands, but then you realize you don't, and it's just gonna keep getting worse!

There is no real "age" here...it's all about experience. When it's been proven to you enough times that it just doesn't exist for whatever reasons, you tend to believe it. It could happen at 25, could happen at 60.
