I had ordered the perfect toy-robot for christmas a while ago only to get an e-mail recently saying they are out of stock. I need to find a good affordable toy-robot in NYC

i know of a retro toy store in the east village. if you walk down 2nd ave past St. Marks place you should find it. good luck!
