Five months ago i had sex for the first time with my boyfriend at the time. Since then i have took a pregnancy test - came back negative, and have also been having periods. However, my period that came straight after sleeping with my boyfriend was very very light and also late. Five months later i have had all the rest of my period - although irregular and i have missed my most recent period by nearly two weeks. Even though the pregnancy test came out negative i'm still worrying so much, am i just being paranoid? Also i sometimes get pains in my stomach! Thanks XxX

Have you considered that the worrying may be affecting your periods. Stress can do some strange things to the body. I seriously wonder whether you should be having sex at the moment.

If you were five months pregnant, you would know it. I think it's just irregular periods. Teenage girls worry a lot about that. I have never met a woman who hasn't said that their periods weren't irregular when they were teenagers.
If you were five months pregnant, you would be feeling your baby move and a pregnancy test definitely would have picked it up. Stop stressing over it. If you are really that worried about it, then see your doctor and get a blood test done. Blood doesn't lie.
Next time, use some protection. A baby at 16 changes your life so dramatically. Good luck.

If you are that concerned, go in to a Dr. for a blood test. Chances are, you are just off schedual with your period, because by now you would have had a positive result on a pregnancy test. I wouldnt worry about being pregnant. By now you would also probably be showing and feeling a baby move. If all else fails though, a blood test will give you reassurance. In the mean time, if you are still active, now is a good time to start birthcontrol. Good luck to you.

Do another pregnancy test to make absolutely sure, but if you are now five mnths pregnant you would be developing a big bump in your stomach. I think you should go to your doctor to discuss this, see a female doctor, and I am sure she will put your mind at rest. I am sure if you have been having periods then you are not pregnant. Periods can be irregular when you are young. Also, check you have not caught an STD as that can cause you to bleed too. Have protected sex in future. Your doctor can also do a test to check if you are pregnant.

Ok huni, nothing to wprry about im sure. Pregnancy tests are very reliable. You need to stop worrying though as there is such thing as a phantom pregnancy. This is where its set in your mind that you are pregnant and then you bring all the symptoms on yourself phychologically. Stomach pains can be anything...wind...period pain, bladder infections...anything! also boobs getting bigger and sore can be hormones, and irregular periods could be stress, diet, excersise! So please hunni dont worry, you will be fine. Just make sure you use protection if you dont want to fall pregnant. Good luck hunni, take care x

If you are worried that much, that is the cause of your periods being the way they are and stomach cramps. You are worried that you are pregnant and your body is responding to it. I suggest next time you have sex use protection and the worry won't be there. You are fine and once you relax your periods will go back to normal. You have to remember too that your body is still changing and all the changes can throw off your periods. You will know when you are pregnant, your body changes as well. Your breast get heavier and soar, your hips widen, butt spreads, mood changes, your hair may even get darker, all kinds of things. I say it is just stress from worrying. Relax and everything will be fine. If you are that concerned then go to the doctors.

My mother in law didn't know she was pg with my husband until she was 7 months along. At that point she had only gained a few pounds, and if it weren't for her passing out at work, she would never have known. She also had her periods the whole time. Take another test just to be sure. When I had my last pregnancy, I couldn't get a positive until I was 3 months along.

Go see the doctor. Then, stop having sex until you are in a position to support a baby in case "an accident" happens.
Abstinence will relieve the worry which will probably make the cramps go away and as an added bonus you will have 100% birth control. 16 year olds should not be taking on such responsibility and worry.

You're just being paranoid. Trust me you'd know if you were five months pregnant. Baby kicking, big tummy etc.. you don't however, say if you've had sex since the first time. If this is the case and you haven't used contraception you could be pregnant only from a different date.

You're probably just stressing yourself out so much over maybe being pregnant that your period is becoming irregular and light. That happened to me too, my period was nearly three weeks late (after being insanely regular for nearly a year) and it just made it worse because of my stressing over it. Stress has a major effect on your body and your cycle. Since you've been getting your period, you're not pregnant. Just take a deep breath a calm down! :)
Also, look into getting on birth control. With you taking birth control and your boyfriend wearing condoms (which he better be doing!) it'll calm your nerves a lot! My boyfriend and I practice safe sex on both ends (he wears condoms and I take oral contraception). If you don't want to talk to your parents about it, look into Planned Parenthood. They maintain your confidentiality and don't seek parental permission for birth control.
