It's getting harder and harder for people to believe in Jesus now since we live in a highly intellectual and technological world (so they claim). It's easier for poor or uneducated people to have genuine faith since they have little or no stake in this world. That rang true in Jesus' time. It still rings true today.
But I guess, some people won't really believe in Him, whether they even saw or touched Him, or was born 2000 years after Christ. (That's why salvation demands faith. It's already provided for, but it still boils down to whether we'd accept and believe it, or not.)

I mean no offense in any way to any of the Christian faith when I say that the Bible is just a collection of stories from close to 2000 years ago. Historically speaking, there is actually no proof that Jesus rose from the grave. Yes, he may have been crucified, but this was a common form of torturing prisoners to death in that era, and many people were crucified. But to think someone can rise from the dead after being crucified for three days, bleeding profusely through the head, and being stabbed through the lungs is just preposterous.

No. it quite is emphasised for historic motives. It replaced into between the distinguishing traits of Christianity that replaced into no longer held via others who claimed to be followers of Jesus. This alongside with people who believed Jesus no longer divine or the different no longer human have been additionally rejected. The extremely-present day interpretation that those have been suppressed, yet conceivable, concepts is presently a fad between people who opt to return to previous heresies with the intention to declare an historic previous that excludes the Catholic Church and its orthodox Christianity.

There are certain people who are never going to be saved. So, these people will never believe that Jesus died and rose from the grave.
Plus, it's hard to believe a miracle. Even people who were THERE (the Pharisees and Romans) didn't believe.

Because those people don't have the same low requirements for "proof" that you do. I find it very hard to understand what some people do believe. Besides, I thought it was supposed to be about faith?
Is this a religious question, or a psychological one? :-)

In the Gospel acc to St. John, Jesus said:
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day (6:44 )
Also read John 15: 16
And most importantly, and easier to comprehend is this:
“19: And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20: For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21: But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.” (John 3:19-21)

There is no tangible way to prove something happened unless you were there, Were you there Stephen? I highly doubt it, and unless you can prove to those of us out here that are "free thinkers", that you were physically there and saw it happen, then i doubt you are going to have to many followers, except those that are told what they must believe, rather than reading and learning for themselves.
Oh and if its the bible you chose to place your faith in....maybe you should take a second look at the history of it, considering it wasn't written until 300 years after Christ supposedly existed, by the council of Nicea, on orders from Emperor Constantine, (who was originally a pagan worshipper by the way) after converting to Christianity......

What "proof" are you referring to? K-E-G mentions "wanting to believe". You don't have to want to believe in things that are proven - gravity doesn't care if you believe in it or not if you choose to jump off a building. Nor does it require you to have faith or to have beliefs. Religion requires faith, not scientific proof because it's not founded on a provable reality. If you want to go ahead and believe in something that's fine, but don't invoke science (I happen to believe the moon's made of cheese, and I've got just as much right to my faith)

What proof are you refering too?
Jesus is only referenced in the bible, and the only "proof" that he rose from the grave is an empty cave people said he was buried in

Because people don't want to believe it. You have to have faith in your beliefs. There is no scientific proof that happened but the faith that you believe it is the way to being saved.
