Why people generally have bad thoughts against muslims ?

O f course i have no differance in wearing style ,and i dont see any necessity to tell other people my religion.So i havent heard any negative opinion at abroad.but while having a search in yahoo question parts i feel ignored.This is just a religion why people cant just respect.They keep muslims responsible of wars ,dont any other group or people cant share this bad murderies,bottles goes on ...Although islam isnt a name of a group,it is just a religion,each muslim has different kind of thooghts,there are many muslim countries which has different politic structure.How do you judge people?Do you search for it first?İf you do,are your searches limited with JUST the TV IN YOUR ROOM?or just the politic view of your country?

Simply the only knowledge they have of Islam is what they have seen and heard in the media since 9/11. Before then i don't think all the negative stuff was there, now anything a Muslim does its front page news and we all know who owns the news papers. I have only been a Muslim for 2 years but growing up in Scotland there where Muslim, Sikhs, Hindus, catholics, Christians, Jews, harry Christians you name it Glasgow has it. I feel i grew up with Muslims as neighbors, school friends, family friends, work colleagues and never in my time growing up did i ever hear anything negative about Islam or any other faith. Even though at that time the IRA where committing terrorist acts in my country (UK) i did not feel it necessary to vilify catholics or blame them for the acts of the IRA even as a child i could see the two where separate. Americans have the right to be angry about 9/11 but should blame the people who commited the act and the group that supported them, not people of the same religion. I have every right to be angry about Iraq and all the thousands of innocent muslims dead at the hands of Americans, should i now hate Americans or should i hate Bush who is responsible? I know the true muslims before and after my revertion and they are still the same caring, loving, peaceful God fearing people they always where. I know the truth, you know the truth and Allah knows the truth. Insha Allah in the end the ones who will pay are at his hands.

The media has performed a well task of making giant worry wherein Muslims are involved they usually make it appear as though Muslims are loopy, gun-toting, bomb throwing, militants without a tolerance for whatever or someone non-Muslim. People judge people by what they see, read and hear. Most of what is told when it comes to Muslims is what the extremist Muslims say. Like the one shouting the loudest and most extreme message is the one that is going to be heard. Same thing happens with Christians! People are in the habit of lumping everyone into one group. So for example, when the president of Iran says there was no Jew Holocaust during WW2, they think all Muslims think that.
Its not just Muslims.

Because of the media. People are bothered to think themselves. It's much easier to listen to somebody else and not use your brain. Muslims are not bad, they are simply misrepresented in the world.
