They can at least tell that you were visiting the proxy site, and that is not good either. If you are visiting a proxy site, you are definitely doing something you are not supposed to be doing.

Typing into a secure proxy SHOULD ensure you privacy.
No guarantees though
Visiting sites like MySpace probably should be done from the comforts of your own home. In the event of an insecure proxy you are putting yourself at great risk. MySpace has a bad name now . I'm sure you don't want your employer viewing your MySpace page or the pages of others you visit

Yes. Each computer has an IP address which identify which computer is viewing what. No anonymity.
However any site that has a password to enter will not be accessible to people@work.

Anything you type into the proxy should be sent over a secure encrypted connection otherwise its not a very good one. So no they shouldn't be able to see the requests you make over a secure proxy

For every devious scheme there is a way to defeat it. Accept the fact that your company wants you to work for pay, not waste time on Myspace.

Simple rule taught to me early in my military career. Never do anything electronically unless you don't mind the repercussion's. Everything via on-line is traceable. The capabilities of the network administrator is the only limiting factor.

Yes. The administrator of your work internet can always tell what sites you have visited, whether or not they care or know how is another issue.

At my work, they run software so that they can see exactly what we see on our computer screens at any moment. Of course, they have to have a reason to check first. It isn't like there's someone whose job it is to watch us.

Well, if you type in www.myspace.com, they can obviously tell you've been there, but not if you go to a search engine, type in the word myspace, and then log in to your account from there.
