Even though it is not when Jesus was born (that was sometime in Sept) it was the time picked to celebrate his birth. It was meant as a time for friends and family to get together once a year, to spend time together and share the past year and to remember the birth of our Christ and Savior, to remember the life He lead and the life He give for all of us. It's to remember and be thankful of the good things we have and the bad things we lived through. It's a time for Love, to give it and receive it. To make up for any hurt feelings so that the new year that is about to begin, can start fresh and clean. This is what Christmas means for me and my family. Some how so much of this has been lost with running around to ever mall in town, to fight for a parking space and get a gift for someone that cost too much, or they may not like, or both. So many of the good things are miss in action now a days.

It means different things to different people. To some, it's a day off from work. To some, it's a time to value friends and families. To some, it's Jesus' birthday. To some, it's all about giving and receiving gifts. To some, it's a sign of winter starting. To some, it's just another ordinary day. I can go on and on. And, people's perspective of Christmas can change over the years.

Christmas is a pagan holiday that was brought together by powers in Rome during times of civil unrest with christians and they were told it was in "observation" of Jesus's birth. But it is not really a christian holiday but a pagan one because of it's roots.

It's also become a time that is getting diluted in sales and the greed of the world. But also brings many smiles to many faces and brings many people and families together.

Also, it's still a time for people to get together and be happy to have one another in this world.

Christmas is the one day of the year that we all act the way we should the rest of the year. An open heart, open mind, overflowing with caring and compassion for our fellow human beings. It's the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, who came to earth to cleanse us of our sins, and interced for us before God.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the fields, keeping watch over their flocks by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the lord shone round about them, and they were afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not, for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you this day is born in the City of Bethlehem, a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; you shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel, a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on Earth peace, good will toward men'".
