Tell her that your interest in poetry is something you like to do on your own and that you have no interest in sharing your thoughts, ideas, etc. at a conference. Asking you to speak at a conference is no little favor, so don't feel bad for saying that you don't feel comfortable speaking there. Maybe you don't have to say that you flat out lied to her, but at least play it down. Tell her that maybe you don't have an interest as huge as she thinks you do. IF you don't come clean, you better get reading some Robert Frost.

Go to the nearest public library and ask one of the librarians to assist you in finding a popular poetry book. Choose two poems (to be passionate about) preferably short ones. Write ONE paragraph about each one. You're set.
You only need to be a "little" poetic at this point. Passionate yes, prolific no.
Check out the poetry by Shel Silverstein as well. It's a hoot!

Maybe she is setting you up? lol. Just tell her even though you love literature and poetry, you read well but are not much of a person who can deliver ideas/speaches/get into discussions and such. Next time, don't ever lie to a woman to impress her, just be yourself. We love men the way they are. If you are smart, intelligent, funny, sensitive and kind it will do very well! :-)

Better tell her the truth. Why on earth would you start of a relationship with a lie? Tell her just what you told us, you were trying to impress her but the truth is you know little about poetry. Hope you learned a valuable lesson? Always tell the truth.

Well first of all you shouldn't say you know about or like things that you have no clue about just to impress a girl. And this is why. So you have 2 options. 1. you can go up there and embarass yourself and her because you don't know what you are talking about, or 2. you can tell her the truth and hope for the best. You shouldn't lie to a girl about things like that because it always comes back to bite you in the butt. Good luck.

Why do you want to impress her at something that you are not even good at??Even if you do pull it off, you are still deceiving both her and yourself..Think about it..If she is interested in you, she will automatically be impressed at any skills you are good at..Even if you can really date her, is the relationship true??How long can you last??Believe me...Tell her the truth..If she forgives you, then you can have a true and open relationship with her..Just think about it...You wouldn't want her to lie to you either right???By the way, who wants??Go tell her the truth....That's the best option.

It looks like you're busted.
You have 2 options: find something else to do that day and make an excuse she'll see right through, or take the afternoon and check out emule.com, pick a poet and take LOTS of notes...

So tell her you have previous plans that you can't change. And maybe next time you'll have the balls to be yourself and not try to impress someone artificially. Honesty and integrity are vital in a relationship and you just proved that you have neither.

Just tell her that you have a poems just for her that you did .Poem call how I feel.
Every time you came around, the tears being to fall ,down my cheeks to the grown , gosh I feel so small,I'm reaching out so far to you, But you won't grab my hand, I want to tell you the whole truth, But you won't understand .I'm drawing in my own life, But you won't jump in.I want to say it all so much,But don't know how to being .My life is now in pieces. My mind is in a reel all because I just can't say what I really feel.//Give the poem to her and she will love you so much.Good luck!
