Do you mean hot tubs or the famous hot springs (onsen)?

Regular hot tubs (like the kind on hotels) in Japan are the same as anywhere else.

Hot springs range from lukewarm to almsot scalding hot, depending on what kind of spring feeds it. Onsens can be indoors or outdoors. With the outdoor ones, the cooler outside temperature counteracts with the hot water. You almost always go to an onsen completely naked (men and women are in separate baths).

I love onsens.

It depends on the onsen. They are usually hot ranging from 108 to 118 degrees F. You can find mixed onsens meaning that men and women bathe together naked.

I'll tell you the information. In Oita prefecture of the Kyushu area, there are lots of mixed onsens. Sorry if you're a woman.

isn't privateness the different of public? besides... In a wide-unfold undertaking, you enter a locker room the place you strip bare. you pass away there and pass to a bathing station, which would be in a separate room or alongside the wall of the warm public bath section. it quite is considered impolite and basically elementary incorrect to circulate into the tub without washing and rinsing first. Wash up, rinse thoroughly, then enter the warm pool. appreciate it. positioned a small towel on your head to appear as if a expert. do this as long as you elect. you may as nicely get out, wash up and rinse back, then pass back interior the warm pool. once you're performed, wash and rinse, pass on your outfits and dress. you would be smart to spend a evening at between the warm springs that has an related hotel. you will no longer remorseful approximately it.
