Maybe the halter and the shoes were a bit much. You have to think about what your co-workers wore all year round and if they participated in happy hours and so on. If they are anything like the people I work for which they wear a sports coat and slacks and think thats party attire. So it probably was a bit much.

it depends what you wore on top. if it was a drab black suit, it's definitely exceptable. but i think you should stick with the elegant black pumps - red might be a little too showy. i'm sure you looked great whatever you wore.

Well first, I would nat have worn Jeans to an office party.

I would have worn a nice dress or skirt suit. But about the shoes.... I would have worn them with my dress or suit.
