That's a very interesting thought. I believe you refer to the Bi-partisan committee on the Iraq war. Remember the Iraq group is bi-partisan and headed by long-time Reagan/Bush family friend and ally, not to mention a very conservative Republican at that, James Baker. Baker led the team who dealt with the recount in Florida in 2000 that ultimately got Bush declared the winner. He was a strong and articulate advocate for Bush then and very effective too. My point being, I don't think Baker has it in for Bush, but he is an honest man with an excellent record in areas of State and defense.
I see no reason for him to state these things if he doesn't feel that is what needs to be done. Interesting note that as of yesterday, the administration has decided it will no longer claim we are winning in Iraq as reported, I believe by both Fox News and MSNBC.
As for equating the thoughts of terrorists with those of more liberal or progressive political thinkers in America, could be compared to saying things like all conservatives hillbillies or something worse.
NEITHER IS TRUE! Just opposing political philosophies and that is good for America by stimulating discussion for those who can reasonably engage in discussions on political discourse.
As far as Bush following the advice of the committee, who knows, but at least to some degree he may have to eventually. His political capital has mostly been spent.

I'ts not a surrender group, except to hysterical idiots.
We'll be disheartened that more American lives will be pissed away for no good reason.
Terrorists are not what the Iraq quagmire is about, unless you use "terrorist" to mean "anyone I don't like". Like "communist".

I just can't wait for Al-Qaida and the Demoncrats to declare openly their alliance. I don't know what will be more gratifying, when the liberals finally come clean about who they really are or when the Al-Qaida decides to purge their alliance like other tyrants have done to their "intelligentsia" base.
